Medical Assisting
Description
The Medical Assisting major provides students with opportunities to develop secretarial, laboratory, and clinical skills required to work closely with physicians and other health care professionals.
Students apply their classroom knowledge to actual work experiences while on externship at a College approved health care facility.
Students enrolling in this program must submit proof of a physical examination, PPD (Tuberculosis Screen), and Hepatitis Series performed by a physician or other
licensed health care provider, prior to enrolling in MA131 Phlebotomy Procedures, MA151 Examining Room Procedures and MA201 Clinical Lab Procedures.
